Important Update On Our Link Building Experiment

June 13th, 2009 | Comments Off | Posted in General SEO, Off-Page SEO by Jack

If you have read the post on 10th June 2009, you already know that we’ve started an aggressive link building campaign on one of our test sites.

That site was removed from search engine results for about 1 month, but the return is impressive!

The site was not even in the first 1000 of Google results in United States before we started. I can not disclose the site name or the targeted keyword, but the keyword has about

35 million search results on Google Search.

Today, the site ranks #10 (yes, first page!). I checked my notes, and it’s been about 26 days since we started the campaign. And we spent less than $100. The site is running CPA offers, and with a correct network, that $100 can easily make $1000 just with the organic traffic from Google.

But there’s a major flaw in our campaign which we’re trying to figure out. Our keyword consist of couple of keywords (something like “earn a free degree”). If we search for the exact keyword, the site is #10, but if we make a very small change like removing the “a” from the keyword structure, the site is not even in the first 1000 results.

We’ll be working on this and the optimization of some new keywords. Let’s see what difficulties we’ll face this time.

10th position in 35 million results is success!

Two Levels of SEO On-page and Off-page

May 13th, 2009 | Comments Off | Posted in Off-Page SEO, On-Page SEO by Brandon

On-page SEO services involve making sure that the content of your website is rich with relevant keywords that the search engines will look for when a user keys in those keywords.  These keywords will be present in the body of the articles to be found in your website, as well as on the title, the headings, as an alt text, and in other parts of the website.

How To Drive Free Traffic To Your Site With Articles

April 2nd, 2009 | Comments Off | Posted in Off-Page SEO, Traffic Sources by Marcus

Tools to drive visitors to your website are many but the main one that should be employed is the use of articles. The popularity of article writing and exchange has emerged as a convenient way for people to promote and get fresh content for their sites. The popular search engines want new, creative material and content for their users who are very demanding. Most internet users consider the internet to be one huge database and the search engines also see it as a giant source of information. It is a good idea to understand what it is the search engines are looking for, so rewriting an article automatically makes it something the search engines want, unique content.

However, you may be of a mind to start writing articles from scratch and discard the idea of rewriting existing articles and if that is the case there are a few things you will need to consider. Once you have determined a topic to write on you need to do some research and this is easily done online by entering a search phrase for your topic into your favorite search engine. The importance of making the article flow correctly must not be underestimated so ensure that you have a beginning, middle and an end which should hopefully round up the article nicely. The conclusion is a winding up of all the information you have just written and doesn’t need to be more than about four sentences with most articles approximately twenty sentences long. Remember to split the article up into about three or four paragraphs for easier reading and once you have written the article, you need to include a resource box containing your information and any links.

Article writing is a great way to make money online whether it’s through advertising and promotion for your website or for writing articles for other peoples’ websites. It’s the first article that can be difficult to write so how do you start? Article ideas can easily come from real life, for example, if you have a long and happy marriage, then write articles which help people with their relationships. You could also, get some ideas for niche markets and the articles would at least give you a starting point for writing.

In order to excel at article writing, do not forget that it’s imperative you use good writing methods. Writing on a daily basis will help achieve this because you will come across the same problems faced by every other regular article writer but it will help you to improve. This method works well and that’s the reason why I believe you should remember that the more writing you do, the more effortless and productive it will become. I wish that these guidelines were like the Holy Grail of writing but they’re not although they have worked for many writers including myself, only you can decide whether it’s this system or another that best suits you, however, whatever method you choose, stick with it.

One Way Links is the best SEO strategy.

January 12th, 2009 | Comments Off | Posted in Off-Page SEO by Pam

There are two very popular methods for getting permanent one way links that will send traffic to your website.  They include:

1) Writing Articles – How this works is that you write an article, at the bottom or in the content, you place a link to your website. Then, you submit the article to an article submission service that will make your content available for free or for a cost.  The user of you content must then put the entire article on their site, with your link. And, you have one more permanent one way link to your website for every person who uses your content.

2) Submitting to Directories – Submitting your website URL to web directories is a very time consuming and boring process, where you give the title and description of the site, in addition to the URL for your site.  The directory will then add your site and give you another incoming link.  Directory submission is a good technique for getting permanent one way links.

Because the two ways that are most often used to increase the number of incoming links are both time consuming and boring, it is better to ask for the help of a professional who knows what to do to get you permanent one way links.

Using someone who has experience writing articles and submitting to directories in order to build one way links is better than doing this submissions yourself. Why? Because first you don’t have long hours to waste and second you could generate bad incoming links if you d not submit your articles or directory listings in the right way.

How is Directory Submission helpful in Search engine optimization?

December 22nd, 2008 | Comments Off | Posted in Off-Page SEO by Marcus

What is directory submission? How does it help in the web site promotion? Many think directory submission is similar to the data entry jobs and they assume it to be very simple and easy. Sites like yahoo, Google etc have huge web directories similar to the phone directory we use. These directories are store houses of relevant information about business concerns and web sites all over the world. Thus for promoting a web site its details are submitted to the directory in exchange for a small fee.

Again this directory submission can either be done manually or implemented through automated services. When someone submits his web site to a directory human editors have to go through them to check quality and other guidelines. With millions of web sites coming in daily it is not easy or it is very stressful to go through them and check for quality. So automated directory submissions was invented to check for the submission guidelines. The advantage of this automated submission is that it is easy and less time consuming. It automatically checks and submits without delay.

But what really matters is whether the web directories can accept automated directory submission as they are very strict about the guidelines. Moreover if the category to which the submission is made is not chosen properly then it loses its purpose. You cannot expect an automotive service to analyze which category your submission is best suited don’t you? Thus though the time factor favors automated directory submission it still has a long way to go to outbid manual services.

Any product or service hitting the public market needs to be advertised. There are various ways and means through which this advertisement can reach the general public. The print media, roadside banners, brochures, graphic boards etc are some of the familiar marketing techniques followed. Created a professional website to promote the business is the new and trendy marketing tool undertaken today to expose a business. Imperative features like the SEO, SEM, directory submission, link building etc help to increase the search result when someone searches in the search engine.

The web site payout along with the catchy content and tags should be competent to bring in customer traffic. And to enable this many factors are concerned imperative like the SEO, SEM, directory submission, link building etc. any business concern which takes off as a fresher must give away a press release and do the Online Directories and Search Engine Submissions. Press Release is nothing but a public relation announcement about the new business prospects. The information provided should be 100% original and no false or exaggerated content should be focused on. This is the main door which opens up to the public who will trust what they see or read from this press release. This can also be done during a course of a business when they roll out a new product or have introduced or opened a new store.

Key Off-Page Search Engine Optimization Methods

November 8th, 2008 | Comments Off | Posted in Off-Page SEO by Brandon

On-page search engine optimization is definitely one of the key methods if a website owner would like to improve the results for his or her website’s searchability. However, on-page SEO often entails technical skills. Why? Not a lot of people are HTML enthusiasts. This is often what needs to be tweaked to do an excellent job in optimizing web pages.

What if a geek friend already did the on-page optimization and now you want to know how you can contribute to the “search engine goodness” of your website? Off-page optimization is the next step. And the results you will have to pine for are one-way backlinks. Why? This is how many of the major search engines such Google, Yahoo! and MSN rank websites. The more backlinks from relevant sites with good page rank, the merrier.

So how exactly do you gather backlinks? It’s not an easy task but it’s definitely less nerve-wracking than HTML if you are not the techie type. Here are some off-page SEO tips:

1. Article Marketing

Quality content has been discovered to be real king. Everyone is hungry for fresh and quality info and providing it will make backlinks go pouring in. It helps a lot to be a keen writer to be successful on this endeavor. Also, practise the proper way of using a resource box. It should only include a website that contains information relevant to the article you submit to article directories.

2. Forum Participation

Look for forums that are relevant to your website’s content and keep on sharing information that will be indispensable for the members of the forums. Your signature or that tag-along message at the last part of each of your posts is what will work for your off-page SEO campaign. Keep it simple and make sure that it conveys something about your website. Learn how to hyperlink to make it easy for the people who want to visit your site.

3. Blogging

Blogs or web logs are now the most popular weapons of SEO experts. Aside from being easy-to-update, they don’t require a too formal tone, which is what many readers are into. Informal dialog which can be accomplished through readers leaving comments and the blog author replying to the comments is what also keeps blogs fresh and search engine friendly. Maintaining a blog that’s again relevant to your website’s content will keep the search engines in touch with your site. Don’t forget to have a link on your main website from your blog.

The secret to be successful in carrying out these off-page SEO methods is to be consistent. Submitting quality articles to websites at least two to three times a week and regularly producing content for your personalized blog is a surefire way to make your website stand out. Forum participation should also be something done more frequently since it will not only help you up your website’s popularity with the search engines but also make you learn new stuff from other forum members’ participation. Also, if you discover that you don’t enjoy these stuff, there’s always a plan B – hire someone to do them for you!

The Importance of Anchor Text Keywords

October 18th, 2008 | Comments Off | Posted in Off-Page SEO by Tom

While any webmaster knows that doing some link exchanges will bring more visitors on their site, few people know how to use the full potential of a link exchange campaign to boost their website popularity.

One of the key elements that determines web page rankings is the number of high quality links pointing towards that page. Combined with the keyword density of that particular page, these factors will determine where your web page appears when a search is initiated.

Let’s say you have a website on wood carving. Now, one of your pages is dedicated to wood carving tools, which is also the key phrase you optimized the page for. A good keyword density is not enough, however, and if you want to tank high you need to get as many incoming links pointing towards that specific page as possible.

While links pointing towards your domain name are valuable, you actually need to get links pointing towards that particular page in order to get the best results.

Anchor keywords

The anchor text is the one that you can insert in an HTML code so that your link is actually a series of keywords or a keyword-rich phrase. The importance of anchor text keywords is high because it tells the search engines that the page the link is pointing at is focused on the topic described by the keywords. Here is how the HTML code for a link looks like:

<a href=”http://www.yoursite.com”>Keyword Rich Description</a>

In the case of the wood carving site example, the link for the specific tools page should look something like this:

<a href=”http:// www.yoursite.com “>Wood Carving Tools</a>

The web browsers will only display the link anchor text, so the phrase “Wood Carving Tools” will become underlined and hyperlinked.

Where to use anchor text?

Everywhere! When you are doing link exchanges, when you are posting on blogs, forums or groups. When you are creating your website description, when you are sending articles to ezines and directories.

For example, if you plan to send a few articles for submission to a directory, you should try to include keyword rich anchor text links in the resource box.

By doing so, you ensure a much better chance for ranking high on particular keywords. Always remember to use a keyword rich phrase in links that allow HTML, instead of the classic http://www.yoursite.com.

It also helps if you use variation in the keyword text links. When posting on blogs, for example, try to have your links point to different pages on your site, and for each page use the main page keyword in the anchor text.

This is also true for article submissions. You should submit one article to as many directories as possible, but change the link and keyword anchor text once in a while.
